Monthly stock-up

Just got home from my monthly stock-up at the grocers. Not as bad as usaul, under $300 today. On the way home I remebered that NC started the Lottery yesterday, so I pulled into a gas station to donate my money (I never win). i was dissapointed to find that only the scratch cards are up and running at the time and the regular lottery will start at the end of May. So I grabbed a diet soda instead. The clerk behind the counter had another 90 minutes on her 12 hr shift and was really tired. So I bought her a rose and wished her a good day as I left. Her smile was wonderful, really warming my heart. So I now challenge each and everyone of you to do something nice for someone for no other reason than to get a smile and make the other person feel just a little better about their day, and remember, smile dammit!

Only $300 for the entire month??? May I pretend you have to go back for milk and fresh produce at least once, please? I think the last time I spent so little was back in grad school, when I was given food stamps. But damn it! I made them last the entire month, and Mackie and I ate fairly well. Granted, a seven year old doesn't eat much, and rice and beans (staples in a vegetarian diet) don't cost that much. Now days, I tend pick up take out on the way home from work too often. I really need to get back into the habit of cooking at home, but it's tough when it's just for one. Want to join me for dinner, Rev?

you assume correctly, this is th main stock up, the dry goods, i still have to return to the store for milk, juice, bread. Appximately $20 per week.

Would I like to join you for dinner? It would be an honor and a priviledge that I would eagerly accept.

rev...that was so sweet of you...
I do nice stuff for people everyday...even if it's just holding a door.
