Wealth not cut dementia risk

A recent study of 13,000 over 65 in UK found the affluent areas suffer the same risk of dementia as poorer areas, unlike many health problems.

In the UK one is 70 get dementia between 75 to 79, over 85 the number is one in 15!

So as the population ages, we are going to have the Night of the Living Dead zombies walking about! And fewer young people to chase them.

Something to look forward to!

Perhaps we should put a bounty on them or ask them to shuffle off on to the glacier like the eskimos used to do to those who could no longer chew their blubber.

Perhaps we can hope that research will provide us with answers, treatment and ways to prevent this instead.

Watching someone that was once a loving, productive and skilled member of society waste away from a dementia like Alzheimers is a terrible thing.

Just remember that Hitler too thought along the same lines as you and look where that all led.

I was being facietous! I know the pain of demented loved ones, as I have a mother in law who has lost her mind. I don't think we should kill them! I think we have a big problem ahead caring for lots of folks. I don't expect a cure anytime soon.

The fact that some people seriously thought I suggested we just kill them shows our morality has evolved in an unattractive direction!
