Unique, just like everyone else!

Each person is unique, with a special set of DNA and individual characteristics like his or her fingerprints. Yet we are also in many ways alike.

We share a culture and many aspects of a similar outlook as Americans. Even Black americans when they go to Africa realize how American they are and how different from their ethnic origins they have grown.

Each of us is equal in the eyes of the law, theoretically. Each of us has one vote at election time. But, as George Orwell said in Animal Farm, some of us are more equal than others. Money equals power and some individuals and companies have a tremendous financial power, which translates to political power.

My point is the contradiction of being special and unique, just like everyone else, is part of the universal human experience. Each of us yearns to be appreciated for that special person each of us is, while those around us mistakenly think we are just ordinary people.
