Those without sin....

Should cast the first stone, as Jesus said about those who wanted to stone a woman convicted of adultery.

Many people get worked up about those evil law breakers who do bad things, like come into the US illegally. Violating laws is bad, but there are many complications in the immigration laws. Some may be able to get asylum if persecuted in their home country. Some may be able to adjust their status for various reasons. I think we should have a temporary worker program, and better and more realistic ways to deal with the situation.

I think the simple minded approach "just deport everyone" lacks compassion and realism. We are talking about an estimated 12 million people! What impact on the US economy if they all just left?

I think the absolutists about following the law should consider a few laws they might have broken:

Have they followed all traffic laws, never blown a stop sign, never speed over the speed limit?

Never cheated on a test in school, never took home work supplies, never shoplifted, never vandalized?

Never used any illegal drugs, never drank before age 21, never cut school, never cheated on any government form, never called in sick when not ill, etc. ?

Never cheated on a spouse or significant other?

My point is there is a total shortage of perfect saintly people. I have never met one as far as I can tell, and I don't claim to be a perfect saint.

So why are so many so harsh in judging other humans and want to punish them so severely?

Such punitive attitudes show a lack of compassion and are facsist in my view.

Oh, hell, we all know this place is populated by saints, just a mirror of the larger society. Americans = saints, foreigners = bad.

What's funny is we all want to talk about our ancestry.

I have met some great foreigners and some not so great Americans...

Kelli is sarcastic and right we are proud of our ethnic origins...
