Symmetry, the 2/3 rule of attraction and the sweet smell of success!

Scientists are studying the biological basis of human attractiveness. I find this fascinating.

Studies find symmetrical faces are considered more attractive across cultures. Scientists theorize the symmetry reflects underlying health which is better for healthy offspring.

Men also show a marked preference for a two thirds ratio between waist and bust, and waist and thighs. So the 36-24-36 model is picked by men across cultures. Scientists theorize that this ratio is found in young and healthy women who would be better at having children.

The most interesting experiment was having women sniff the smells of males from used tee shirts and their preferences based on the odor! The women generally preferred the more attractive males who were taller, symmetrical and judged "better looking" independently! This result is baffling but some theorize that more successful males have a more successful smell?

I find this stuff interesting, while clinging to my belief in free will and my right to make existential choices! Why fantasy beats reality.
