Cynical Optimist

The more I learn about people, the better I like dogs and horses...

Still I remain optimistic, despite some less than optimal experiences. Why? One of my favorite quotes, from Samuel Johnson, on a man remarrying after a bitter divorce: The triumph of hope over experience.

I have a fantasy of what life and love could be, with the proper attitude. So I keep hoping despite my experience to date...

I couldn't agree with you more on prefering animals over people, animals don't lie to you, they don't stab you in the back, and they certainly don't mess around with your head. animals always keep every secret you tell them, they are always there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on. What can I say, for the most part us humans are not the top of the animal kingdom like we think we are!

Blessed Be

Jon Swift's Gulliver's Travels has the great satire in the fourth voyage about the nasty human like apes, versus the graceful horses! The horses are noble, kind and have great qualities!
