Bette Midler on Letterman

Bette was funny and sang "Fever" the old Peggy Lee song to promote her new Peggy Lee tribute CD. I liked her version, but Peggy Lee's had more sizzle in her restrained hottie way.

Liked this joke of Bette's: she said she was touring Australia with her Broadway revue show and had some trouble with their immigration. They asked her if she had a criminal record; she replied, "Oh, is that still a requirement?"

Don'cha jus love the "Divine Ms. M"? She started out her career in gay bathhouses y'know? Such an inspiration to us all! Her sense of humor in great and most of all her appreciation of same sex love is awesome. No wonder so many drag Queens emulate her, she is a national treasure "chest".
