Attraction is relative

I was again struck by the optical illusion of attractiveness. At the YMCA where I weight lift many of the people have lumpy, old or unattractive bodies. Not surprising. An average looking man or woman looks relatively good and attractive in this crowd. While the same normal person next to a bunch of starlets and TV models would look dreadfully plain. My point is how attractive you are at any instant is based on a comparison to your surroundings. Should normal looking girls avoid beauty pageant winners, and guys not hang around male models and body builders unless interested in catching the rejected discards?!

So do you consciously avoid being next to a person who is much more attractive looking when you are on the prowl, or do you use them as a lure, hoping to land the prize, after they fail to succeed with the better looking object of desire next to you?

If you think you are attractive that confident attitude helps, but reality can be so unforgiving!

You should rephrase that to hold your heads up high, methodman.
