Just Ramblin' On Here

Okay I know this is a site for some adult fun, but I am very proud of this poem. I want to post it on here. There's a story to every poem. This one does not need explaining. I wrote it for a dear friend, she is very open with me. I did ask her permission to share this. I did recieve an award for it also. Here goes:
The Child Within

All these years, this secret I did keep.
All these years in my soul it did sleep.
The memories were too much for me to hide.
Fear was in me, way deep inside.

As time went on it turned into a violent rage.
Aren't mommies suppose to protect at a tender age?
The child within cries in terror,
The monsters came out, here comes the horror.

Slowly going through the pain once more,
I couldn't keep those feelings behind memory's door.
Sobbing, red nose, eyes wide with fright,
Asking the Lord to keep me safe through the night.

As I walk away from the pain,
I know my scars are not in vain.
Others around me know the terror I faced,
Forgiveness I have given but not in hace.

The child within is hurt forever more,
She has put the barracades on the door.
Trust is not given so freely,
Doubting words she does so easily.

Go easy on the comments...
