trailing clouds of glory...

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:
Heaven lies about us in our infancy!

These lines are so beautiful.

From William Wordsworth's "Immiations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood"

This passage talks about the beginning of the decay of a man from the time of his birth to the time of this death. How we are born from the belly of God and at the time of our birth we begin our decline. At no time in our lives are we more pure and innocent and untainted by the World than we are at the time of our first breath. At no time are we closer to God! The clouds of glory we trail at the time of our entrance into the World is our knowledge of God

This is no sermon because I am not religious, it is just a beautiful thought!
