I haven't had enough energy to post blog entries recently. I've had a few things to write about, but no ideas for photos. I even had someone visit last week who could've taken some photos for me without my having to be embarrassed about where the photos were going to end up. Wish I had asked!

Torqued off by a recruiter

I had a phone conversation with a recruiter this morning that really angered me. Like most recruiters, she was asking for my "salary requirements", which is just a fancy way of trying to bracket me in a pay rate. I always turn the question back on recruiters, asking what they think is the fair market value. That usually works, and my answer tends to follow suit. This particular recruiter kept pushing, though. I especially disliked the hypocrisy. From one side of her mouth came the statement, "I place a lot of people in the area and I have a good idea of salaries." From the other side came, "Everyone is different, so I need you to tell me your salary requirements." Oh, well. The position doesn't look like a good fit from here, anyway. I would've pursued it, but I think I'll just tell this particular recruiter, "No, thanks."
I'm still waiting on word from the interview I had at the beginning of the week. If I don't hear anything by about this time tomorrow, I'll have to assume I didn't get it. I'm still in the interview process with a large company in Seattle (not Microsoft), so we'll see what happens there. I don't really want to move, but I will to continue my career.
Next Monday will be the one-month anniversary of my unemployment. That's where my nervousness threshold will kick in.

Busy schedule coming up

Tomorrow, I'm going to be visiting family. I'm thinking about baking a cake for the occasion, too. At any rate, I don't expect to be online for several hours during the middle of the day at least. On Monday, I have an interview in the morning. Tuesday, I'll have a friend over in the afternoon.
Pretty busy schedule for being unemployed.

Too many tank tops

I wear tank tops and shorts the way that some people wear pajamas. They're my inside- and sleeping-clothes. They don't get very dirty in that role, so I wear the same tank top and shorts for a week. (Yes, I change the briefs underneath my shorts daily.) However, this week, I've gone through four of them. Spilled some food on one. Hot nights (weather-wise) caused me to sweat heavily in two others.

I noticed that some people have started to follow Adult FriendFinder's and Alt's "great idea" for profile pictures. The idea is to hold up a card or piece of paper with your handle on it. I didn't think it was all that great an idea at first. Actually, I still don't, but I think I know why they suggested it. With the flood of Ghana romance scammers that show up all the time, often using stock model photos, a picture of a person holding a card with the same id as the profile is harder to fake. It strikes me as the same strategy that kidnappers use to prove their victim is still alive by sending a photo with the victim holding the day's newspaper.
I suppose this will work until smart phones can run some version of MS Paint or Photoshop. Then the scammers can grab existing photos and edit them to have their handle in them.
This isn't a bad idea, if you happen to be a woman (or maybe a hot homosexual male) who doesn't speak English natively and you want to make sure that you won't scare off potential suitors who may think you're a scammer. Honestly, though, if you can write grammatically and punctuationally correct English sentences in chat and you don't try to navigate your chatters off-site, I doubt that anyone will even begin to think you're a scammer.
Oh, by the way, if you choose to follow their advice and put your handle in your photo, remember that it does no good to edit it in on top of the photo. You have to be physically holding the card because anyone could edit a photo and put whatever handle they want on it. You'll also want it in the center, to make it as difficult as possible to crop it out.
I suppose tattooing it on your body would be about as forgery-proof as possible, but you'll probably scare people away for mental-health reasons if you try that.

What you are seeing in this picture is a pepperoni pizza pie that measures 17 inches across. I ate about half of one of these (actually, pieces from several flavors that approximately add up to a half of this) this evening at a technical meeting sponsored by recruiters. As I am writing this, my stomach is complaining slightly. I grabbed this pie on the way out (because no one stopped me).
So...who wants to come over for leftover pizza?

Sorry, rant here. I watch a lot of the NFL, so I have the "opportunity" to view a lot of beer commercials. Why is having beer at exactly 34 degrees supposed to be so important, anyway? At least those commercials are more entertaining than the ones for erectile-dysfunction drugs.

I was chatting with 49HudsonSedan last night. (Mostly because no women were chatting with me at the time.) He said, "You are too sexy and hot to be at home alone." Well, sure, but where do I find all of the women my age?
It's somewhat funny, but I have a surprising number of conversations with bisexual and gay men. Last night was 49HudsonSedan, who really wants to rim me. This morning, bicurious240 (I may be getting the id wrong) had me watch him jack off and cum in his hand. Earlier in the past two weeks, I had multiple conversations with secretplaya. My stupid sleep patterns this week finally caught up with me. I went to bed around 8:30pm last night, tossed and turned until about midnight, slept until 6:00am, and tossed and turned again until after 8:00am. I feel better, though.

I've been having difficulty motivating myself to get on the exercise bike the past few days, but I managed to do so tonight. I'm not pushing very hard though, mostly due to the heat.
