Work as a way to avoid reality

The cowboys have noticed that I've been working from "cain't see to cain't see" and sort of falling off the planet in the process.

Wrapped up in minutia like getting more sand and rocks and mortar and stucco and talking to squirrels.

A great way actually to avoid the other stuff... the work related uncertainty... the absence of sex... the absence of someone to be able to share a lot of fun stuff with ...

Falling asleep when I get done... rarely dreaming and when I do it is swirling unsettling stuff... crack of dawn back on the house project hauling dirt...

I wonder how much stuff gets built mostly to avoid facing reality...

*sigh*...Know EXACTLY what you mean, as for your dreams they maybe telling you something you don't want to hear....Ready

Ready

True. Learned a lot about dream weaving and interpretation...the subconscious popping out...I feel I know what the "issues" are...just haven't figured out what to actually do about them yet.

yep, we all do it. Fantasy and hobbies are a great way to escape lifes problems. I don't think it's a bad thing, especially when, like you, it's constructive

Bye everyone, it was a blast

New pic?

The working on building stuff is a great way to accomplish something useful while digging through "issues"...at least there's something tangible at the end.

I, for one, am waiting for your house to be finished, so that you can give us all a tour. You know the old saying, all work and no play..... You need a little play. Just like the rest of us here. I think our being here is actually a way to avoid facing reality, don't you think?

The completion date keeps slipping back...I wish I had the money to just hire someone to do a lot of the work...but reality is I can do this poco y poco and while it will take longer, at least I won't have a giant monthly mortgage payment.

Not a good idea around here what with Border Patrol et al watching everything one does.

Great Wall of China...definitely a possibility.

Wasn't totally technically finished...assuming 'beaurocratics' stepped in to 'help' 'supervise'!

i think i blog, at least in part, to sort out my reality and get others' takes on the world, too
and learning about others helps me get outside my own head
and i still miss being in a relationship, it's just been so long since i've been in one that's healthy

do the cowboys shoot the squirrels? (i hope not)

puntachueca replies on 8/30/2006 7:25 pm:
nope. they all live trap and relocate nuisance critters. lots of fun making the decision where to relocate them....

Nah, there are much BETTER ways to ditch reality. Joe

I tend to fall off the planet every couple years. I'm trying to get myself re-grounded.

Hope you're doing ok. **BIG HUGS**
