What do you do on a weekend with no partner or date?

Another weekend and no date.

[blog mzhunyhole] is having a cyber party at her blog with sack races and a kissing booth.

I’m sitting here at my computer at 4 AM Saturday trying to think of something fun to do.

Last weekend I wandered around a WalMart thinking about all those Chinese workers making stuff for us that they cannot afford, and wondering what they think of us.

The weekend before the highlight of my weekend was looking for new windows at Home Depot for my house. Lordy windows have gotten expensive.

When you don’t have a partner or a date for the weekend, what do you do that’s fun?

I usually end up going shopping with my daughters and granddaughters. I think my daughters bring me along to watch the babies so they can shop! LOL
Sometimes I go to my hometown and visit with family and friends. I haven't done that in awhile. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.
Sometimes I just sit home and catch up on household chores.
Every once in a great while I will actually go out by myself.

So there ya have it! MY exciting life! LOL

I'm procrastinating.

Actually I will, hopefully, spend some time cleaning my apartment, and cooking. And working on the job search (I did *not* get the job i interviewed for thursday, but was called to set up an interview for another position in their co. i never applied to. And an interview for a job I almost had once before. And another company... called to set up an interview for one position i applied to, but now i'm being interviewed for a totally different position there too). so yeah... 3 interviews for next week so far. but tons of other jobs to apply for. but if i do'nt get a second and BETTER job soon... i'm 1 step away from utter chaos and ruin at the moment ok... i'll go get busy now that THAT thought is in my head.

and tomorrow: bookstore day Barnes and Noble... Venti Hot Tazo Chai, Extra Chai, Lukewarm. Sunday Paper. Browse the books. Maybe write a while. Maybe get hit on by guys. It's happened before.

Good luck in the job interviews..Sounds like the job fish are biting!!!

Due to some strange reason, they stopped selling the New York Times down here, so my Sunday's are now a wasteland.

Time is such a gift and sometimes, I have to have some time to
myself. Lately, that time is spent in blogland.

I paint and rarely have as much time as I would like to spend
doing that. In the meantime, there are a gazillion ways to go
have fun..so much going on..especially in the summertime..with
or without a *date*. I'd rather just hang lose and enjoy the company of people who are in my life and not be all hung up on the *dating*
thing anyway. ...............

and tonite, I'm also getting caught up on laundry while I click
the keys ..

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...

Someone needs to invent laundry that will do itself.
Thanks for visiting.

I agree. I think part of the transition from married life is learning how to enjoy one's self without a partner. I often feel like the pressue is off, and I can have more fun without the expected criticism.

"No grandkids... yet" reminds me of my mom hehehe. She used to say "i'm not old enough to be a grandma!". Now... i think she's just getting frustrated with both my brother and myself.

My daughters are in their late 20's. The younger one is off to the east coast for the summer...and I've gotten to the point of not really learning her boyfriends' names...I think they are all named michael or something. The older one just got married, but I'd be very surprise if she got into the kid thing anytime soon...heck, their mom was 30something when they were born...and their grandma (86) is pushing very hard. I like to joke...my daughters are keeping her alive waiting....

Well..this weekend was a little different. I am buying a house that is basically a ruin...so I spent the whole weekend knocking out termite eaten windows, ripping out termite eaten cabinets, tearing the ceiling down...gosh that felt good...we have some pretty aggressive termites around here.

after reading all of the comments i realized my weekends are pretty much "normal"
i have a beautiful schnauzer named Frida , weekends are beuty days for both of us, a bath for her and getting all of her stuff in the washer , and home spa for me, pedicure, manicure , facial , the whole thing . then some tv , web surfing until very late at night and sunday afternoon shopping with my dad .
maybe i already told you i惴 a sculptor , anyways, i惴 working on an african mask and also doing some research on modern urban art .........
i guess weekends are just a lot of pressure for some of us , i惴 looking for a job and also single so my parents (with nothing else to do on weekends) just don愒 get off my back with the no man, no job, no grandchildren life i have
anyways , if saturday and sunday get too nasty there is always a monday
