Taking the stupid pill
Today is supposedly the end of the world day 06 06 06.
In honor of that, what is the dumbest thing you've ever done in your life?
Mine was programming my cell phone to ring playing the Mexican Hat Dance. I forgot about this, got called down to a meeting in Mexico City, was meeting with a very high ranking Mexican official, and my phone rang.
Any wonder Mexico thinks Americans are idiots...
What was the dumbest thing you've ever done?

dumbest AND smartest - being willing to try anything at least once! LOL -|

Ciool. I've always liked the definition of "dumb" being doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the outcome to improve...

hahahahhaah that made me laugh |
Um... dumbest? I can't think of any. Selective memory at it's finest!

The problem is when it is done in public, there's always people to remind you. At another meeting my title of "water and sewer attorney" was garbled into "licensado de aguas negras" which literally means "shit water lawyer". Huge laughter from the Mexicans and the host Mexican official commented (in English) "here is the only United States lawyer with an honest title". Later, I was in a recieving line to meet the President of Mexico (and get my picture taken) and there was this guy announcing each person very loudly over the PA system...and he gets to me and literally shouts "From the City of....Arizona, the licensado de aguas negras!" And the President has this really surprised look as he almost (but not quite) shakes my hand...and then he started laughing...So I'm famous down there as the "shit water lawyer"....and can never live this down.

the thought came from a long time ago when the first thing was to get our guys out of Nam and a more recent experience where I helped arrange a medivac to get someone out of Mexico...

the stupidest thing i ever did is such a long long story that i'm not going to post it on your blog ... it might however be the subject of a book i write one day ... something like "how to be a total and utter fool about love" |
