Satirical observation

NEW YORK: Spokesmen for America's airline industry announced today that the airline industry will hire former special forces soldiers to form corporate death squads to hunt down Osama bin Laden.

"This terrorisim crap has cost us a fortune," said the airline spokesman, "and we've got to protect our business."

Airline exectives have long been frustrated with the inability of the US government to get rid of bin Laden.

"Five years later and the bastard is still screwing with us," said Willard Freep, CEO of TransMountain Airlines. "Meanwhile we're mixed up in a civil war in Iraq spending billions and now we've got to confiscate shampoo."

Airport gift shop and duty free stores immediately chipped in to fund the death squad project.

Southwest Airlines announced today that free toothpaste and mouthwash would be served on its flights, along with peanuts.

As far as I know things like shampoo can be taken onboard in your check in luggage. The problem is with the accessible hand luggage.

Getting rid of Bin Laden would, of course, be great. Problem is history has taught us that there is always another nutter in the wings who will take their place. There are so many extremists out there that I don't think a hit on one man will cut it. They have their 'teachers' in every country of the world..recruiting young asians and even white people into their plots.

It's gonna be a long hard war.

Bye everyone, it was a blast

People over here are checking eveything and not taking carryons...that probably helps.

Too many nutters in this world.

(What the fuck is this shit..?? *rolls eyes*)

That's the thing about satire...sometimes it becomes the truth.

I would have been ready in a heartbeat to agree with "readytolay", but I got an email today from my daughter and son-in-law. They are in India, they went the 14th of July to attend a good friend's wedding and have been staying with the bride's parents. They had been planning on staying for a month--you see this was to be their honeymoon also. Now they don't know if they will get home ok. They evidently aren't too far from the border with Pakistan.

Do you know what it is like to get an email from your child telling you "in case we don't make it back . . . this is how to dispose of our new house, etc."

Enough with terrorist and WAR! Let's just get the hell out of there
NOW, no actually YESTERDAY!!

Forgive me, Puntachueca! You are not my target--you are my friend --(I hope!).

I just want my youngest daughter and new son-in-law home--alive and whole---just like those Mothers who live over in that area of the world would.

Hugs to you Puntachueca.

Given how things work...I'd be more afraid of our corporations than our government...
