A break from the Forge

Don't you love it when those last details pop up. (That's what attracted me to Minutia's Blog: the devil is in the details.) An hour before quitting time, and I find out the office party is "an adult function." My guest was my 11 y/o daughter. And they had already said no to others about their kids. So even though I was told I could bring her, Maya and I saw a movie instead. Priorities. You have to keep them straight.
And saturday, another day at the Reserve center. Chasing down Marines to give them their flu immunizations. Inteacting with the Blue side of the house. Flirting with that certain admin tech.
I don't get to see the Blue side very often, being attached to the Marines like I am. It's a win/lose situation, but I don't mind. I had been a medic since I was 12 y/o. I just didn't know until I was 24 that I wanted to be a medic with Marines. And I finally got my chance when I left the Navy at 32. I came home.
Sorry, I ramble on.
Time to return to the Forge.
