Irrational Rationals?

I like weird people. They tend to be more interesting. I find them more explorative, often highly original or inventive...they are "think outside the box" types. Individualization turns me on, and they have that in spades.

Sometimes I even think they're loony, but when they explain the rationale behind their thinking, it often makes perfect logical sense to me, even if it's "out there" anyway. What does that mean? I'm pretty damn analytical...but it could be I'm just as crazy as the weirdos. If that's it, I must be a weirdo, too (!). (Gosh, now I realize this probably comes as no surprise to some of you...hahaha).

But I'm digressing... Ahem. Where was I?

"Crazy" means a lot of things. There is a whole American Psychological Association Manual (the DSM), the "bible" for diagnosing a client. It's a big book. There are sickos, yeah. But there are also non-crazy unconventional artist types, open-minded thinkiers, liberals, people without a heck of a lot of boundaries, adventurers, innovators, etc.

So I suggest...crazy is both bad AND good (although the good kind is highly unpredictable, lol). It's a matter of degree.

I like to think my love of weirdos is because of the following:

Crazy is often just the overdoing of personal creativity.

Do you agree?

Gee, no wonder you like me. I've been called weird since childhood!

As far as crazy just overdoing personal creativity, no. Have you ever been around someone who has had a psychotic break? Or schizophrenia? I used to have a friend who instead of getting a real summer vacation would go off her meds, have a break and spend two weeks every summer in the mental hospital. I can't even say what the worst she did was in a public forum, it was so perverse. But typical for her would be to snap and try to run people down.

I've known enough people with mental illness to not think people who are weird or bizarre or eccentric are crazy. Now, I'm not talking DuPont family eccentric. They are completely insane for the most part. But normal weird, that's far from being crazy.

But liberals are listed as crazy? Did the AFA publish that book, or the APA? The far right are far more insane.

True, but with a strict regimen of drugs, deep therapy and analysis; a simulation of Normalcy can be forged, allowing the Sanity-Challenged ("Crazy" is just so not PC!) to pass in Normal Society's flock as yet another Sheeple.

What fun is that?!!

Been a while since they last let me out into polite society. Resurfacing, catching a breath, & catching up.

And while I got my Broad-Brimmed Pimping Hat on, could I cajole all of y'all to Comment on, Alone In A Cloud? It's probably the best thing that I've written!

10/25/2005 9:19 am are not weird at all. You are very normal. All of you are normal. It seems as if you are trying to wear the weirdo label as a badge of honor, something to be proud of because it makes you different from the crowd. We all want to be different from the people we consider mainstream, but a true weirdo is a rare speciment among complacent capitalistic money hording materialistic shallow thinking droids of America!

Are you truely a weirdo, or are you merely a closet wannabe yuppie who can't deal with your normalcy? Huh? Are ya?

Me......I'm not a weirdo I'm just a you and you and you and oh too!
