What is this world coming too???

The world is indeed in a sad state of affairs. No worries here, I'm not going to start shouting from the rooftops "Its the end of the World!" "Salvation!" or any of that such. Its just sad.

I'm not going to start talking about what is going on in Iraq, suffice it to say its a mess. Not going to talk about the Middle East crisis, its also a mess. Nor am I going to drone on and on about the terrorism. All that is a mess.

However, what I am going to talk about is when I got online today I open up and start scanning the headlines. What alarmed me was an 18 yr old kid KILLED his mom and STUFFED her in a freezer! Oh my gosh, how cruel is that???? Family hadn't heard from them since Friday, called police. Police came and searched the condo and thus finding a bloody mattress, spent 22 caliber shells and the mom stuffed in a freezer. It took them 2 days before they could identify her because she had to be defrosted. That is sad. Then on to my next headline I read, Police Seargent on trial for 4 counts of and assault. I'm not talking like he was on a date with them kinda either, but he supposedly BROKE INTO their homes! He was found outside a victim's apartment wearing a black t-shirt and shorts. He told an officer that he was looking for his mother-in-law's house. Ummmm...shouldn't you know where that is? Should you be doing that in the wee hours of the morning? Apparently they have found evidence in his home, pry bar and some other stuff that had possibly been used in at least 1 of the attacks. Now, even to me that sounds like a flimsy amount of evidence. How many people do you know or even yourself might have a pry bar at home? I do! That being said, he had been identified by 2 women in line up and the other 2 by voice. Hmmmm...conspiracy? Someone out to get him? I dunno....time will tell. Oh, he has also been put on administrative leave continuing to be paid his $81,000 salary. WOW! On to my next headline, a woman finally turns herself in after a week on the run. She apparently shows up at her brother-in-law's house with a suitcase and crying. He proceeds to talk her into turning herself in. Wow, what must have been going through her mind for her to show up at her brother-in-law's house! She killed her husband! His brother! Supposedly, she put on a large amount of vegetable oil on the stove and heated it then pouring it on her sleeping husband. He received 3rd degree burns and finally passed away after a week. That is terrible. They still have not come up with her possible motive, although there was some suggestion that the husband was considering divorcing her. They had been married only a year.

I realize I have only talked about here in the US, but keep in mind I do understand what is going on in the other parts of the world. I do not state my opinions in such matters as I don't wish to step on anyone's toes. Granted, it is my blog, my rules! lol. I can honestly say is what are we coming to if parents have to fear when their "good/great/terrific/wonderful/etc" child is going to hack them into teeny tiny bits and feed to the fishies? When the ones supposedly protecting us from those that break the law are the ones committing crimes against us as well? What about when you can't sleep at night because you are afraid your lover/spouse/ex might throw boiling oil on you trying to kill you? It really shouldn't be like this. Finally, I must add no matter how a person feels about the war in Iraq remember to support our troops overseas and at home. They are doing what they are supposed to do and we should honor and celebrate them for such.

My goodness, has this turned into a ranting blog or what????

Reality is what you make it

.... if you focus on all the bad things going on in the world

.............. a bad world is your reality

I find that it's good to actively focus your attention on the good things as well (try watching less news !)

.... to truly see how wonderful this world and your life really is

............ an imperfect but wonderful world is the true reality

Live with passion !

Fortunately there's happy places like AdultFriendFinder for us to come to... lol

I can't watch the news anymore. They should just call it the "Bad News". There may be a positive story like once a week....

(sigh)... I'll just stick around here and drool over the hotties... speaking of which... lol

Yes, there are nutcases all over the world. Fortunately we don't have 'em all here. *whew* I don't know how accurate the news really is. We have a tendency to sensationalize stories, so some facts are distorted for the sake of a better story.

rant or no rant you raise excellent points. i think that to a certain degree crimes like these happened before too. only back then we didn't have cnn to instantly broadcast it throughout the world, nor the local stations to report whatever happened to some small village somewhere on the other hemisphere.
kisses to you sexy baby.

Quite true. I wonder who the "first" serial killer was. Jack the Ripper? Dunno, might have to do a search on that. *takes your kisses and wants more*
