Who Are You ?

My husband felt nostalgic and was reflecting on is past, last night. He was fondly taking a trip down memory lane and recalling old sexual conquests and lost loves. I sat and watched as he relived all the "warm and fuzzy" and "heart breaking" stories. He is no longer that same person that lived those many life experiences. Life has changed him.

In my opinion, he is a much better man / person today. I also know that my husband would completely agree with my statement. He has told me that I have made all the difference in his life and that I am responsible for the changes in him.

I do believe that I am a very big part of it. After all, finding someone to share the rest of your life with and to also have the type of friendship and love that we have and share is so very rare. However, I also believe that all the other things that we have lived through and experienced ( good and bad ) shape us as we age. Certain things or events stand out and have a huge impact on us.

That is....if you learn from your experiences.

I, like my husband, have reflected on my past. I don't have as much fondness for my past as he does. But it has shaped me. In both the positive and the negative.

On the positive:
My husband and children have made all the difference in my life.

On the negative:
My childhood has left me with emotional / mental scars.

What is the biggest reason that you are the person you are today? Positive and negative.

Finish these statements:

" On the positive, today I am the person I am because of ______________."

" On the negative, today I am the person I am because of ______________."

Embrace life !!!

I'll embrace life and embrace you too my sweet twin!

I LOVE stuff that makes you think and you and I have shared a lot of details about our lives with each other during the short time that we discovered our twinship.

What I've discovered is it's positive. I hate to sound like a cliche, but it's all good! In EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING that has happened to me in my life, there is a blessing and a lesson to be learned and if I learn it, I get the prize, I get to be a better me!

Even the things that take me forever to learn, those 2X4's that I repeatedly allow to get bounced off my head, there is a lesson and a blessing.

And the best part of banging your head up against the wall is this....

It feels so good when you stop!

My love to you! -B

Great post !
positive because I come from a very disfunctional family but there was always love.
Have had many negatives but always look for the positive... so I do embrace all of life, and accept the bad with the good and learn from each step.

" On the positive, today I am the person I am because of karma."

" On the negative, today I am the person I am because of karma."

Thanks for the reminder to embrace life, I try to everyday, but sometimes I forget

On the positive, today I am the person I am because of my husband. He is the one who taught me how to stand tall and be strong. He is the one who taught me to fight for what I believe in. And most of all he is the one that shared with me our three precious gifts.

On the negative, today I am the person I am because of an evil ex. Even though my husband taught me all of the above, I have my mental scars that I work on everyday.

My positive and negative are the same: Realizing at a very early age that we truly are alone and ultimately reliant upon ourselves in life.

On the positive, today I am the person I am because of the heritage of my Appalachian upbringing. The values taught by my parents were handed down from generation to generation. My family and ancestors on both sides have lived in the same area of Eastern Kentucky since before 1800. They taught values that are largely lost in this day and age.
On the negative, today I am the person I am because of television and now this damn computer.

mzhuny- It's good you've learned from your mistakes, so many people don't. As for giving your heart to men ...listen to your own internal voice, and don't close your mind.
