For me, it was so very much more than just some concert. I lost all my music albums in my divorce. Remember, the age before CD's? Those large round black circles that required a stereo needle to play them. I honestly, felt like a teenager again and acted like one. Remembering, the first time I had heard the band and saw the "Photograph" video on MTV (1983) and thinking this music is very special. What the Beatles had done for some early on in history, Def Leppard had done the same to me. I was one of many who stood for the entire concert, arms held up to the roof and pumping the air. I paid for an aisle seat that I briefly occupied while Journey performed. At one point I became increasingly annoyed by the length of Journey's performance which went on for over an hour and said, "Okay, play your fucking three hit wonders and get the fuck off the stage so I can see Def Leppard!!!"

During the intermission and stage changes for Def Leppard a man seated behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said to me, "I can't believe that you are here alone." I thought, "Okay, here it comes, the pick up lines." I told him that my friends and I were unable to get seats together but that they were in an upper level of seats. Sure enough, he commented on my long hair and I learned that the newly divorced dude was 37 years old and drove all the way from Vermont to see the concert. He then proceeded to show me his Journey tattoo and tell me his freak'in life story. He also commented that he wasn't a big Def Leppard fan. One word,"LOSER!" I was able to shut him off with one comment, " I'm not here to see Journey, I came for Def Leppard and I hope you don't mind but I'll be standing when they play. He said, "I'll let you know." I replied, "Well, I have an 85 dollar ticket here and I'm pretty sure I own this space till the end of the show." I was trying to be nice but don't fuck with me when it comes to me seeing and enjoying myself at a Def Leppard concert.

The two women seated next to me were nice enough but did slightly annoy me with their constant leaving of their seats to either do a few lines in the ladies room or buy more beer. One of the women handed me her cell phone, and had me singing into it on several occasions. She later thanked me for being so much fun and a good sport.

The band played many favorites. Love Bites, Photograph, Foolin', Rocket, Hysteria, Let's Get Rocked, Animal, Armageddon, Rock Of Ages, and of course Pour Some Sugar On Me. No words I can write here will ever explain what the concert meant to me. Later, I admitted to my friend and my husband that by the beginning of the encore performance I began to start tearing up. Yes, I love the band that much. So, call me a freak. I don't care. I have my 35 dollar concert T-shirt which I wore to bed last night, my E ticket, some wonderful memories of the concert and the road trip to make me smile for awhile. Till the next time I see them and YES, Mr. Prag.... there WILL be a next time!! - I promise to remember my ticket, next time.

You're not a freak, you're a FAN! And let me tell you, I'm right there with you!!! I got to see them, for the first time ever, last summer in OKC. I STOOD THE ENTIRE TIME and didn't give a shi* if anyone cared or not! They're coming back to this area (to Dallas) in July, and I'll be there!!! (even if I have to go alone!!) We stood at the edge of a balcony, and in front of us, down on the next level, was a lady, by herself, who was standing in an open space. She danced like she was giving them a free, private lap-dance... It was comical, but I admired the fact that she had no reservations and had let her inhibitions fly out the window...lol It was awesome, and although I wasn't dancing on the outside like she was, I was certainly dancing on the inside. I'm a fellow-fan!!!

You were at the show???

This was my 5th Lep show. Like you, Def Leppard was my band while growing up. While Pyromania was the album that turned me on to loud, raucous rock music, (I still have my vinyl copy) High & Dry has become my all time favorite album. I was beyond thrilled when they played Let it Go. I'd never seen them do it live before. However, I was major bummed that they bumped Bringin' on the Heartbreak. I sometimes wish that they were less Hysteria-centric, but I'll take what I can get!

I thought Joe's voice was much better than either time I saw them last year, and Phil Collen is a virtuoso in the guitar! Sav and Rick pounded as always. My only problem, whenever I see Vivian Campbell, I expect to hear some Dio shortly after.

...Just a Rainbow in the Dark...

All things being equal, if they come around again, my ass is back in the arena!

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...

No doc...that was my evil twin at the show..!!

This was 2nd Def Leppard show. I would kill to still have my vinyl!

Whether they are playing stuff from High n' Dry, Pyromania, Hysteria, Adrenalize, Retro Active, Slang or X...I'm one happy lady.

In the 80's and 90's between Rick losing his arm and Steve dying they have still have continued to play to the faithful and rock even better today. They sounded better since the last time I saw them! Probably from less drugs and alcohol. I agree Phil Collen is fantastic and I lust after Joe...me and millions of other screaming women!!

Down the road ...sounds like another CTBlogger road trip is in order!***note to self...REMEMBER THE E TICKET!!!
