Can someone answer this question for me?

Why is it that I am so great at giving advice to my friends and others...yet, when it comes to myself...I don't listen to the same advice that I give others?

Is it the old saying,"Do as I say, not as I do."

Are we better at always solving other peoples problems or questions because we cannot look objectively at ourselves?

Sometimes, I wish I had a mirror that talked back to me. Told me when I was right or wrong. Possibly, a mirror that would kick my ass when I needed it and provide a shoulder to cry on when I needed that too.

Knowing me...I'd end up having sex with the person in the mirror..!!!

I think it's related to what you said about not being able to look objectively at ourselves.

I agree but you know what just occurred to me? In other ways, I know I'm the only one who can answer other stuff.

Guess it depends on what it is, yeah?

Well, at least we've got the blogs!

Yeah, I'm still [blog 1hotwahine]

I absolutely agree with you here. People look at others objectively. Yet, when they look at themselves, they are more subjective.

I think it may have something to do with being too close. You know yourself. I know myself. We have a harder time recognizing our own faults, limitations, mistakes, problems, etc., than we do those of others. Often, we can be non-judgemental toward our friends and loved ones. We can guide them to a more correct path. But, we cannot guide ourselves very well.

I believe it may have something to do with human nature. A person is too close to him/herself to be of any help. He/she can help others while they help him/her. I think this is a little weird. But, it may explain the reason why we do not take our own advice. Ofen, we do not even give ourselves advice.

Do you agree?
