Have spent the last week visiting sites and getting information for the upcoming Blogger's Convention. I have checked out 7 sites and am finalizing plans with the manager of one very nice piece of property now. Tentatively, the date is set for October 21, 22, and 23.(expected to be firmed up at week's end)
The event that is still in the planning stage is the Masked Ball. I would appreciate hearing from you all as to what your interest level is in this and what your budget will allow for its expense.
Additionally, please let me know your drink preferences so we can have a nicely stocked bar for the Hospitality Suite.

(start saving your feathers and beads to decorate your mask with)

P.S. The Masked Ball is really attended by dressed people!!!

Oh, yeah, let me know your tastes in (dance) music as well please!

Thinks that somewhere between $75-125 for the Masked Ball would make for a wonderful party.

Loves pitchers of margaritas, as well as several mixed drinks. And Coke, iced tea and coffee for soft beverages.

I'm easy. Point me, take my money, pour drinks in me. Doesn't matter, anything is fine.

playful - just let us know the price - to us (me and hubby) it doesn't matter much, but still keeping it on the lower side would probably be better, as a lot of people will be flying out or driving in from out of town.

Thank you, Playful, for your hard work.. 75 to 100 is ok for me. I prefer vodka, but not that picky...and water. Music? Not too much disco.. nice mixture.. what else do you need help with?

(not sure if I made it clear based upon the comment by cumtongue)

Most banquet facilities have either a buffet style of service or a sit down dinner; and have the possibility of hors d'oeuvres beforehand. I envision it with a bar (either cash or open), and hopefully with some sort of music(cds, dj, or band).

The dollar amount I am asking how much you are willing to pay for such an event is PER PERSON and is going toward this one event scheduled for the opening night.

The other scheduled entertainment activities include going to a bar(live music)on Saturday evening. The food and drink costs there are reasonable and one can imbibe for about twenty bucks. To date there is NO cover charge at that bar.

I am planning before and after parties at the hospitality suite in the hotel for multiple days. Those would have food and alcohol/soft beverages and would be bought in bottle form and appetizer platters from local stores. The bar in the hospitality suite would be a serve yourself type of set up.

Anything under $100 will work for me.

As far as dance music... I have white-man's disease - I can't jump and I can't dance. As long as it isn't all hip-hop or I'm pretty much OK with it.

Playful, Ditto on the thanks! I'll block the date out in my calendar.

I'm in for $75 to $100 for the ball. Sounds cool. Drinks... let's see, Baileys, margaritas (with salt), amaretto sours, Coke/Sprite, and LOTS of water.

Music and dancing sounds good, too. Now I finally know what to do with that big box of Southern Comfort Mardi Gras beads!

A couple Benjamin's seems about right... Redbull and somethin' makes for an interesting drink..but I can usually invent something tasty out of any moderately stocked bar. I'm not down with line dancing all night... although a night of 'classics' might make everyone have a good time - we're not here to show off or impress (we've already done that) - it will just be like a whole bunch of good friends getting to know each other more...almost like a 20 year class reunion or something...

I never did say anything about the music - did I? I agree with no - classics as mnfun said would probably work for everyone - a bit of something progressive is good too. Let me know if you need anything playful - just email me. As for drinks - Tequila - make sure I have my Tequila (preferably Patrone - but Cuervo is fine too), Amerreto Stone Sours and Long Island Iced Teas (for my hubby).

Again - if you need anything - let me know.

$100 more than reasonable. Vodka & Juice, margaritas, flavored martini's, Champagne, long islands, Patron (No,I'm not a lush ), Coke, sprite, water. I have an available DJ, If one is needed, that I manage. Let me know. He plays a combination of House(Dance), R&B & Techno.

Thanks for all your hard work on getting this up and running. I am pretty easy to please when it comes to beverages and $75. for that event sounds OK. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this point. How soon will there be information as to the other expenses involved....hotel,etc.?

the hotel discounted rates range from seventy-nine dollars(1 King sized bedroom) 89(2 Queen sized bedroom) 109(1 K suite with pull-out sofa bed) to one hundred nineteen dollars(2 QQ suite with pull-out sofa bed)

The party on Saturday nite (at the 46 Zone bar) should probably run you about 20 bucks as their prices are pretty reasonable.

Not all is bad. Especially for dancing. Just think: 'Baby Got Back', Shaggy, etc...very fun to dance to. Also 80's music is fun to dance to. I like a little of everything to be honest. Drink basics would be vodka, rum, whiskey, and gin. Others like Bailey's, creme de cacao, Kaluha, schnapps, etc...are good for mixed drinks.

Playful, you've done a wonderful job in setting this up, and it's appreciated. I wish I could be there, but the timing is just impossible for me.
Just out of curiousity, has anyone from AdultFriendFinder home office been invited to attend? And since it's basically a function by the folks on their site, have you hit them up for possibly a hospitality suite or perhaps, even more? Just a thought. Good luck with it all and take lots of pictures!

This sounds like a great time. $100 sounds reasonable. Music----definitely not one for , house, techno, or disco. Some good old grind it out soul and some hard R&B can make for a good time.

Laugh---------it will confuse the hell out of everyone else!!!!
