Where is the outrage now?

Clarence Ray Allen is scheduled to be executed on the 17th of this month in California. He was convicted in 1974 of orchestrating the killing of his son's girlfriend after she revealed to police a burglary he had committed. He was sentenced to life in prison. In 1980 he ordered the killings of 8 witnesses from his trial. The hired hit man killed the first name on the list and two more innocent people on the scene before being caught.

Clarence Allen is deafblind (a condition of having little or no useful sight and hearing), in a wheelchair, and has an advanced case of diabetes.

Less than a week until his execution will take place and I have yet to hear a word about clemency for this man. Not a month has gone by since the execution of Tookie Williams and people have already forgot their supposed hatred for capital punishment.

Where is the outrage for the killing of this man? Why are Snoop Dogg, Jesse Jackson and all of the other celebrities not joining the call to save Clarence Allen? Is it because he doesn't have a strange name like Tookie? Is it because he only actually kill four people, only arranged the killings? Why?

I know why. Sadly it is because he isn't black. He is a Choctaw Indian, and that is a little to close to being white to pick up the picket sign for these people. The fact that people will go to no ends to beg for the life of one cold blooded killer, but not for the life of another is disgusting. Apparently he doesn't deserve the same clemency that some sought for Tookie.

All of those who fought for Tookie to be saved and are not putting forth the same effort to save the life of this man are no better than the racists they despise. We can never have racial equality in this country if a black man's life is more important than the life of a man of another race.

Side note: I just wanted to state for the record that I have no opinion on capital punishment. I haven't yet decided what my feelings on the subject are. I just thought the above subject needed to be pointed out. For further opining on the subject of capital punishment and Tookie Williams, see my post Falling on your sword

If he did the crime, let him do the time and if the crime is bad enough, hang the BASTARD.

For the most part, I agree with you. I was just stating how stupid I find the whole situation. Both killers, where is the outrage for this man.

By the way, you won't here it from me.

I have to say, the reason that they have not stood up for this man is because tookie (whatever the fuck) would get them on the front pages. It is all in the ratings. Yeah and I also truely believe it is because he is not black.
