Music

To pose the question of "if you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing from your daily life" to myself, the answer would be music. I've lived without tv for months on end. I've been broke and damn near homeless a few times in my younger days, but I always had music. Its the one thing I can count on everyday, that I'll have at least a few songs that fit my mood. The last thing I do every night before I go to bed is hit play on the cd player near my bed. I almost can't get to sleep without it anymore. My tastes vary widely, I was trained in clasical piano when I was younger, so certain clasical pieces really hit me. I've always enjoy music that wasn't "mainstream", and there have been several bands over the years that I quit listening to after their popularity skyrocketed. The majority of my music collection (which I tallied up awhile back and at average retail, I'm in the neighborhood of $8000 in my cd collection!) is hardcore punk and industrial. Bands like Ministry, which I've been listening to since I was 12, and harcore acts such as Scratch Acid, The Jesus Lizard, along with the punk staples of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys and such. I'm a music junkie, but better that than some other things I could think of.......
