Why should I care?

The kids are going back to school soon, ah yes, back to school. Your kids, my kids, everyone's kids, back to school. I don't care, cause its not me going back. Thirty years ago, (damn 30 years ago), I may have been concerned. But not now, I simply don't care. Send em back, back to hell. Hot buildings, lousy cafeteria food, short tempers, crowded parking lot, hell getting in, and even hellier getting out (is hellier a word, I don't care). No more bikes laying in the street, the pool will be less crowded at least for the final three weeks its open, the temps are in the 90's, and school is open. Peace shall reign supreme, beer is colder, and pretzels crispier. Get back, and stay back. You won't get out for another 9 months. And I don't care. AMEN

Amber...we have year round schools here too. They got out June 30 and returned July 10. All others in North Carolina go back August 25 (it used to be August 10). Yeah, we are starting on a Friday this year. That will have its ups and downs.

Hey Red, its been a long, hhhhhhhooooooooottttttttt summer. No malice intended. But I've been awaiting back to school since the day after they got out. Feel no sorrow for them, but aiy for me. Besides, with teacher conferences, half days, and assorted holidays, they'll put in the equivalent of 2 working days in three months time. Send em back, send em all back.
