weight

if the first thing out of your mouth is 'what do you weigh', when getting to know me, you most certainly are not worth my time.

and no, i am not sensitive because i'm not a size 2.

give the ladies a little respect before you ask what they weigh, please.

actually, don't ask what they weigh at all.

just 'food' for thought gentlemen.

from a guy's perspective, there's no right way to ask the question. it's just like when women ask how they look in whatever outfit they dug out of the closet after hours of searching. the response has to be in their favor. however, this will not keep me from being direct. if i want to know something, i'll ask. if i put my foot in my mouth, it's my nature because i'm a guy. it's something all men are destined to do many times in life.

of course, one can eyeball someone's weight anyway. there's no need to ask to begin with.

however, would health questions based on your weight be pushing the envelope? i mean, america is getting fat, so if somebody wants to get you into better shape for your health, and perhaps theirs too, they do care about you.

"...if somebody wants to get you into better shape..."

It's not that somebodies decision to do that. Just like it's no ones decision when someone should stop drinking or smoking or taking drugs. I don't care how much you love someone you don't make life changing decisions for them. That could be more harmful then letting them do what they do. And some larger people are large because of health factors like thyroid. Who has the right to say, "You need to get in shape?" Besides a doc?

When a larger person wants to get in shape they have to want to for THEMSELVES.

It's called tact, and a LOT of people lack it.
