The presumptuousness of blogging

Well, I've debated with myself about doing this for a while, but have finally given in and decided to start. However, there is a certain presumptuousness about blogging - the presumption that what I have to say matters. The presumptuousness that others might care.
Why should I blog? Can I make a positive difference in someone's life? Can I influence someone's opinions? Can I start a discussion and myself learn from the responses of others showing me (gently I hope), the error of my ways?
And why would I blog here in AdultFriendFinder land, a somewhat restricted community? And not more out in the open? Well, mostly because I already have friends in this community, and in the larger community, I would like to be a bit more discreet about my opinions.
Let it be known, this blog will cover lots of things. Sex, of course. Politics, absolutely. Philosophy, you bet. Current events, a must. And let it further be known, I am a left wing, tree hugger, 6 standard deviations out on most scales of just about anything. A risk taker, a radical, and a quester after enlightenment. But of course I often think with the wrong head.

Hey loverman!!! I like you first post. Of course we're presumptuous. I think what we do say matters -- if only to a few people. And as we don't have corners in Hyde Park to speak from here, blogs are pretty good alternatives. And I love your picture today!!!

This may seem like a restricted community, but the people here are caring, intelligent and spread all over the world.

Blogging can be highly addictive if you have too much time on your hands, and remember, this is YOUR space - it's whatever you want it to be !
