This evening's meeting.

This evening was the party political meeting, and I managed to get there nice and early to set up my small exhibit and watch the reactions. Of the seven committee members (out of eight) who attended, only one didn't follow the prescribed route which made my exhibit a resounding success.

I had laid out small sheets of paper with a scrawled message on each of them which lead to the next on, roughly asking if they knew that people tend to stop and read information that is laid out on the ground, including campaign slogans. All but one of the committee members read through each of the sheets and got the point of my demonstration immediately. I then went on to explain - later on in the meeting - further innovative campaign methods they could use for the up and coming elections, and for the local elections next year; although I didn't lay out all the various ideas that I have so as not to burden them with too great a choice.

The result? The three main suggestions that I made have all been adopted by the committee for use in August and September, including at a summer party to be held at the end of August with visitors from the neighbouring regions.

Now I can work on ensuring that these chosen options work so that, when the time comes for next year's campaigns, whatever else I suggest will also be accepted. The good thing about my ideas, and I say this with no attempt at stretching my ego out, is that the other main party here doesn't use anything except posters and an information stand, and they are going to be left far behind in the race to get people interested in what has to be said.

This coming Sunday I am invited to meet the party Chairman (not the Chancellor) at a private function in a town near Bremen. This time not just to hear him talk, which is what I did a few weeks ago, but to discuss strategy for our area with him and ways in which the party mechanism in Berlin can assist the smaller local party in our area. Hopefully he'll be receptive to ideas from a real outsider and I'll be able to rock the boat considerably more on a slightly higher level. Such an invitation, make no mistake, is good for my position in the elections next year and I have no qualms whatsoever about using any means available to me to advance myself up the ladder in politics just as I never had any problems in my writing and investing careers.

I have tried, honestly I have, but dukeabbaddon your comment goes right over my head, in more ways than one.

No, please, there's no need to explain it.
