Learning through experience.

I see, in a recent post, that the writer who claims to be misticwriter88 and spreads his 'teachings' and 'words of wisdom' in his blog at misticwriter88 claims to be on a par in life and learning with Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King.

I see that he claims that he is following exactly the same ideals as they followed, and that he demands the admiration they attained.

I note also that he condemns me as being too old to understand what he is writing about.

As to the last, well, that is a matter of opinion. I have seen many, many things in all parts of the world during my brief stay here, in many countries across the globe. I have studied; the teachings of Christ as 'recorded' by his followers, translated by semi-modern learned men and followed by various Churches of today with their fanatical believers and their 'I follow my own ideas of Christ's teachings' additions; the words of Martin Luther King, including his brilliant speech 'I have a dream'; the reform processes of Martin Luther; the work of Charles Darwin; the works of Kant, Freud, Wittgenstein; I have read the words of experience from Daniel the Abbot, John of W├╝rzburg, Theoderic and John Phocas and I have learned from what they have written.

In his blog I commented, after his post, that admiration is not something that you can demand, as respect also is not; it is something which needs to be earned, something which has to be attained. A person who puts themselves on the same level as King or Christ - who themselves were not on the same level - can never command either admiration or respect. Admiration and respect cannot be leveled off as a specific goal to reach where everyone stands; they are different in every aspect for each individual and tempered according to how a person has come to earn that admiration, earn that respect.

Both Christ and King followed different paths to attempt to achieve their goals. They may be admired as martyrs, as teachers and as people whose words will continue to be read and studied for generations to come. Neither one, however, achieved their aim. Both have left the work they began to others to continue.

It is my wish that misticwriter88 remembers this when he demands admiration for, in this modern world, a task left undone brings respect and admiration to he or she who completes the task, no matter how much work has been done before the mantle is handed over. This is the voice of experience, and you deny it, your discard or ignore it at your own peril.

Um, Nightstogether, I think you might have missed the joke. Misticwriter88 is an obvious (to me anyway) parody of [blog Mysticwriter88]. Not sure who's doing the parody, but once you realize it's not serious then it's pretty humorous (again, to me).

I agree with you nights, yet do not believe that the "boy" will take anything any of us say seriously!! He says that he reads, and studies, yet it is evident that he is not truly learning anything! He is acting as only a copier! He is broadcasting someone else's words in his so-called teachings, while not learning anything himself! He talks about chivalry, yet shows none to those who choose to disagree with him! He so obviously lacks, valor that the knights of old possessed, along with humility! He is neither a knight nor even a mere squire! Atleast squires wanted to learn, he a child caught up by the fairytale image of knights, and is definatley dreaming if he really considers himself one! Weren't knights trained then appointed, who appointed him the knight of Blogland????

Thank you for sharing some wise words, we all can only hope that he will take them and apply them to himself!

mi_mwpm no mistic isn't a parody, mistic was created openly by Mystic a month ago for the purpose of seperating his 'research' posts from his commentary! as stated by himself!

Mistic is not an alterego!

sorry to burst your bubble

I hope I'm right, but you all are certainly throwing enough evidence to sway me. It all reads as parody to me, and he doesn't seem the self-parodying type.

Ok I will weigh in, I tend to think there is somthing to what mi_mwpm is saying If you read the posts that begin on the 18th of this month they are a parody of Mystic. So if this was meant to be a missplaced joke or a seriouse rant well whatever. I do think its quite funny if a little over the top.

Thank You for Your Time and Attention

There is one thing that needs to be cleared up here:

The 'alias' that [blog Mysticwriter88] is referring to is MysticKotoc ~ whose blog is called Surveys on Sexual Issues with photo's of the one we all know as mysticwriter88 and yes, that's the one he's referring to in his blog (to refer to wyvernrose's comment).

This misticwriter88 thing.... I don't want to waste any words or energy on that to be honest

just keep on blogging]

It may be that mysticwriter88 isn't yet aware of the misticwriter88 moron; however I believe he is as he mentioned my comments over misticwriter88 in one of his posts.

Pity about the hate mail that he's been receiving, but the names are purposefully close to one another - opnly a Y and an I as difference - which is why I do not believe it to be merely a joke gone wrong but a malicious assault on mysticwriter88's good name and blog.
