Children's trip out.

This afternoon's trip for the local children was a great success, although we ended up with only thirty-five in all rather than the forty who said they would be coming.

We set off on time, and arrived at the Universum in Bremen on time; even found a parking space for the bus not too far away, although the children were, of course, dropped off directly outside the centre.

After that we didn't see anything of the children for three hours. They had so much to do, and so much to see I could relax for the entire time - having been to the Universum centre more than once - in the café and read the rest of Jacques Derrida's book Leben ist Überleben and the first seventy pages of Diderot's The Nun without a single interruption.

The children all agreed that they'd had a wonderful and informative time, and we rode back in the bus as if there was no other traffic on the road, arriving five minutes earlier than planned and still all in excellent mood.

I wish every outing was so easy and so successful!
