I was a bad bad man

I finaly caved in and got me some Italian food today...its been a month and a half since Ive had anything similar...mind you the last time was Spaghetti with ground turket instead of Hamberger and I made my own sauce....but today...Today I had one of my favorite places to eat and the big tub of lasagna that they give is just yummy...I dont know the nutritional value of said meal...I would guesstimate to be at least 1000 calories..if you count the garlic bread...its a big meal...Which is typical of most fast food type places...This place isnt fast food but its really no better...It was a craving I had been haveing for quite some time and now it is sated....Of course I didnt it is all in one sitting...I finished the other half about 6 hours later ..savoring the taste as much as possible...I hardly ever eat beef anymore...I mostly eat Turkey, Tuna, and *shudders* chicken....I hate chicken...its not so bad if its chicken breast and its not fried but I hate it fried...So I mostly grill a chicken breast when they are cheap to buy anyway...I only eat it though not because I like it but because it has the best protien to fat ratio than any other meat...The dark meat doesnt count...only chicken boob will do ...Same with turkey...Beef is actaully higher in protien but also higher in fat..unless you get the lean cuts...

I made myself french toast today too...and had syrup..I was tired of egg whites....(I know I know french toast uses eggs too but you know damn well it tastes different)
I had a soda too....damn it...I was supposed to lift weights today but I didnt...I didnt have the energy...I have not slept very well the past 3 days. I feel drained and cant function....and I dont know why I cant sleep....I cracked my elbow against the wall last night...that woke me up out of my half sleep...hit my funny bone...and I didnt laugh I cussed. And see now Im rambleing like a looney toon because Ive had no sleep....abli abli abli thats all folks

Cheat foods and no workout.....

hmm....sounds like a weekend thing.

I had Calzones the past two days and I rarely lift on the weekends anyway.

The only thing I can't stand about Italian food in general is the white flour they use. It's horrible for the glycemic index. It converts straight to fat in my body, literally. Wish I could find an Italian place that uses wheat flour for their products.

Concur with you about the "no energy". Since I do powerlifting, I can't really lift when I'm low on energy. It's just counterproductive. I might go in to do cardio, but that's it.

Most of my protein sources are: lean sirloin, chicken breast, albacore tuna and whey protein powder. Not a pork person.

You sound like you have your nutrition down.

Don't forget about green leafy vegetables and fiber (preferably whole wheat).

Well as I said before its good that you notice whats going on. Now all you have to do is try not to get into the habit of not throwing away the whole day when you slip. Every time you slip up just do an extra workout or allow yourself only one a week. Regardless the fact that you are so motivated to succeed will help you do so.

I don't mind chicken and fried chicken is just as bad if not worse than eating beef. Other things high in protein and low in fat are fish and beans. Sleep I can't help you with my sleep patterns are killing me these days.

Div - Yea definate cheat day....I try to keep any cheat days down to about once a week...I try to save it for Fridays or Saturndays and I typically only have one cheat meal not the whole day so I wasnt doing to well. For the life of me I cant seem to find the wheat flower type noodles Ive looked everywhere. I know the white flour is basically garbage and most of the time..I eat wheat bread or honey oat wheat bread..I prefer it over white bread anyway...but as far as noodles I really would like to find those wheat floured noodles...That way I could eat some of my favorite foods alittle more often without breaking my diet..Im with you on the pork I dont really like it...I sometimes drink Whey Protien in the morning but I often drink it with fat free milk...I cant stand it in water...Someone told me that they put it in their coffee....which is fine...except I hate coffee...

Well As far as my nutrition Im still a novice. I think the greens is where Im lacking...I often end up eating canned veggies and I know the preservatives in them are not good for you....Are frozen veggies any better? I have to have something that will last awhile because I dont get much time to go to the store so I buy all my food to last me a week sometimes two and most fresh veggies dont last that long.

I did powerlifting in highschool but unfortunately I ended up quiting after I injured my shoulder BADLY. Plus I didnt have free access to the school gym anymore. I went quite a few years without lifting...I started feeling how week and pitiful I was getting and decided to start lifting again..Got my own equipment..Only have 300 pounds of weight though. but I do more circuit training instead of power lifting so I shouldnt need that much. Im not going to start lifting heavy again until I get this belly off of me

SSS - Yea thats called binging...which it was I did..and you're not supposed to do that...if you cheat you're still supposed to keep it to a minium and I didnt. but you're right we are only human...my problem is I have such a love for food...

Flagg - Ive been doing that....I have one cheat day a week....Or should I say cheat meal...I try not to have a whole day of cheating thats what was bad about yesterday was I had a whole day of cheating which is a no no....An extra workout would be good and all but I dont have the time...

Ohbaby - You are so right being bad is GREAT ...but your right must do with moderation...sometimes I just get sick of the routine though...

Not that it'll help... I'll just eat more pizza to get more spankings. Hmmm... the more pizza I eat, the bigger the slappin' sounds, and the less it'll hurt. Ok, It's SETTLED! I'll eat pizza for every meal.

Hey, experts say giving into your cravings for one day isn't a bad thing. We all need a break from routine. If you're only doing it once a month, you're way ahead of most other dieters.
