Henry Ward Beecher

The philosophy of one century is the common sense of the next.

-~Henry Ward Beecher

This quote really speaks to me because of its simplicity. It really reminds me of the sixties, which is one of the few eras where this does not apply. In most instances the attitude or philosophy of the younger generation carried on into their children and continued. In the sixties it became so free and open when the younger generation got older they realized their mistakes. You can still see how a little bit made it through, but overall not much.

I would venture to guess that is probably a good thing. Free will and open spirit is a good thing within reason. The sixties took free love and drugs to an extent no one wanted to see. I am glad to see that free attitude and complete open mindedness didn’t survive. If it had, our country would be in desperate need of illegal aliens to help us do our work.
