Try Death Cab For Cutie. A band out of Seattle with an uplifting sound.

janis joplin was great... really liked ball & chain... met her one time here at the jersey shore before a concert... she had her ever present bottle of southern comfort... friendly and crazy... too bad she went before her time

Listening to music almost always improves my mood. I tend to like something that is happy and energetic. I also have some enya that I like to relax to. It is hard to summarize the music I like. I certainly would not be able to pick a favorite song or band. Too many to choose from... I listen to 103.9 FM a lot and like most of what they play.
I have mentioned the Arrogant Worms before, a band I recently learned about through some friends. It is a Canadian band that does musical comedy, kind of like Weird Al Yankovik. If you want to get a better idea of what thier music is like, go to the limewire website and find the song "Jesus' Brother Bob."

I am a big fan of 70s music to get me lifted up. Especially Blood Sweat and Tears. I also downloaded recently some music from a 70s group called Chase (Bill Chase was leader of group). They were real hot but the entire band died in a plane crash. They were a group that used 5 jazz trumpets, with a rock rhythm section and an awesome rock vocalist. Killer stuff.

But depending on my mood, I also like some of 40-50s vocalist like Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole. Some of their ballads are great.

When I really need a pick me up I put in Michael Jackson's You Are Not Alone or Ben.

Well I had to post another post because I noticed something that I wanted to share. Since I have been looking at you blog none of the photos had any smile, they were all seductive or serious. But your photo on this blog has a smile, very refreshing. You have a beautiful smile and need to share it with us more often. Someone else's blog that I just read talked about smiling, and I responded with the words to the song Smile by Tony Bennett and others. Here's the last verse:

Light up my face with gladness
Hide ever trace of sadness
For though a tear
may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile what's the use of crying
You'll fin that life is still worth while
If you just... Smile

I listen to a lot of old stuff, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Bill Withers, and there are a few new bands I listen too. There is this guy, Amos Lee, you should listen to him, real relaxing, real smooth. I also listen to Los Lonely Boys, I have to represent my fellow Latin people, and have you heard that new girl, K.T. Tunstal? She has a unique sound, I like listening to people that do not sound like everyone else. Oh, and I can't forget Santana. Really, I love music and I am always on Rhapsody downloading, burning, making my own playlist all that crap.

liv,
here`s one for you, a friend of mine sent me these lyrics and the song too, little did she know it is one for the ones i love the best.

it`s called "love devine by seal

the lyrics go:

Then the rainstorm came, over me
And I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my, belief you see
And realized my mistake
But time through a prayer, to me
And all around me became still

I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Through the rainstorm came sanctuary
And I felt my spirit fly
I had found all of my reality
I realize what it takes

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Well I try to say there's nothing wrong
But inside I felt me lying all along
But the message here was plain to see
Believe me

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Love can help me know my name.

hugs !
