The Puppy....

It has been a very rough some of you little puppy broke her leg on Wednesday night. She now has a plate and 6 screws to hold it in place and has been in alot of pain. My 5 year old threw her by accident when she licked him in the nose. Spent a lot of money.....not because I had it....but because the 9 year old couldn't understand the vet wanting to "kill" the pup because of the expense to fix her. How do you explain to a 9 year old the difference when she asked me....would you let me be "put down" if I had a badly broken arm? Would you have "killed" me if I had not be okay when I was little? Enough ....I paid the bill.

Hope to see you all again soon....should be next Wednesday......right?

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, no wife (widower) and a son. To explain to a child that you had to kill their pet because of money isn't an option. Sometimes you have bite the bullet regardless of cost for the child. No easy way to do it except show them that you care about their feelings by showing caring for their pets.

I am curious about this Wednesday thing you mentioned???

Sorry to hear about the puppy and what the kid must be going through.

Best of wishes for a speedy recovery to them both.

OMG, I'm so sorry! I'm glad that they were able to fix the puppy. Being a recent puppy owner my self, I can't imagine the heartbreak of having to put one down so young! I'm sure he'll heal just fine!

That strange that a puppy would break it's leg. Puppies and all very young animals have soft bones. Soft bones are hard to break.
