Winks! Who Really Needs Them!

Okay. So I logged into my AdultFriendFinder account this afternoon and voila'. Despite my profile indicating to send an email and NOT TO BOTHER SENDING WINKS, I STILL get more than two dozen winks a DAY! YOU PEOPLE KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! Makes me want to scream! I think I will anyway. I think people don't even bother to read profiles anymore. I'm almost tempted to change my profile to a guy but leave my photo just to see how many people still try to contact me.

And BTW, what is the purpose of sending a wink? Okay. So someone sends me a wink. So I send a wink back. Do I hear from them later on? NO! So what's the deal with them anyway. I say if your interested in hooking up with someone or even wanting to be friendly, just send an email. It's just plain laziness to send a wink instead of a short email.

Can someone please explain that to me?

I agree, int he 3 years I have been doing this, I have only gotten 2 winks and I would return never hearing from them again.

I think the purpose of a wink is for standard members to be able to express interest in other members, since they have limited ability to view and write other members.
In the case of Silver/Gold memebers on this site, I would tend to agree it is faster to just email someone if interested rather then winking.

As you said though, it is freaking annoying when you respond to a wink and never hear back. That is just a lack of courtesy on the part of some members. I guess those are people I really wouldn't want to meet anyway...just my two cents..

That sounds a very reasonable explanation but most members that have been sending me winks are already paying member (Silver or Gold). They must be sending massive amounts of winks and reply to the first that responds and damn the rest. LOL
