Adult Thoughts...

What exactly is an adult?

What makes one a grown up?

Is it chronological? Does that means since I'm now 22 I'm a grown up? Or have I been a grown up since I was 18?

Is it psychological? If that's the case, how do you tell if you're grown up? Even after going to college, and having two kids, and getting married, I feel the same way now as I did when I was 15. So am I 15 inside a 22 year old body, or was I 22 at 15?

Does being mature make you a grown up? If that's the case, I must have been a grown up years and years ago. I was visiting family in Mexico for the first time in 6 years. My sister and I were watching our kids play in an enclosed area in front of my father's house, and one of my many aunts was there with her kids. After a while, she turned to me and said, "You're very mature, for only being 21." Without any hesitation, I answered back, "I had to be. First with basically raising Veronnica (my baby sister), and then having my own two kids, I had to grow up." My aunt then turns to Sen, my other sister, and said, "And when are you going to follow suit?" So was I a grown up because I was mature enough to realize that?

What makes you a grown up? What does it mean to be an adult?

being able to understand what "yes" really means:
taking chances and excepting whatever the outcome is;
most importantly, knowing what your priorities are....

age, for the most part, only reflects a certain amount of experience. i'm a kid at heart, but that doesn't make me immature. i think everyone has met an over 21 irresponsible girl/boy... ;o)

"that's all i got to say about that. stupid is stupid does..."

When you forget what it was like to be a child, then you're an adult. Sad, but true.

So when you were 15, you had the reponsibilty to take care of others. Yea you might have raised your sister, but you were not the one who was responsible for her. Taking care of two kids, atleast being a good mother like you are, makes you an adult in my mind. You put your kids infront of you. That is very respectable.

Oh boy. I knew it was dumb of me to expect straight-forward answer to this, but I didn't expect it to be as fuzzy as my own view of things!

Now I have some new thoughts to add to my list of things to consider. Hmm...

There are too many answers to that question. Sometimes I think I have never made it to adulthood and I still play like I am young. Oh well, may the Farce be with you!

Labels. Sometimes I;m a grown-up (adult), sometimes I behave like a child (My son once asked my "Dad, why do you behave like a kid?", my response? "Because I can".)

My business life requires me to behave tin a certain way. Sometimes I love letting my hair down and behaving like a complete child, or a teenager .
