Trying to stay friends

I had a pleasant experience this past weekend. I got to see my xlover twice. It made my whole weekend
Usually it goes by with no contact and I got lucky that I was able to speak with her. She is involved with someone new and it is very hard for her to talk with me and not feel guilty. I wish she would just run into me with him and get introduced as an old friend then she could talk with me on occasion without feeling guilty. You see I will always love her but nothing will ever come of it. So I would like to stay friends with her if at all possible. Just seeing her or talking with her is enough for me. It made my weekend.

That is very hard to do. Does she know that you would still like to stay friends? Have you talked to her about this. It might work out.

I thought I would say "good luck". I know a lot of people think that it isn't a good idea to stay in touch, but it can make a break-up a hell of a lot easier as you still are a part of their life. The downsides are that it can stop you from moving on. The other downside is unless you have an exceptional relationship, the point will come when one of you will not mind losing touch. If you are still holding onto feelings for her that may mean that you go through the whole break-up sickness again (It sounds that this is still pretty recent to me!)

That being said take it from some one who has almost always taken the opposite approach and not stayed in touch, that that is hard to.
