Pondering in Texas

Bein' in Tejas, things just ramble through our minds, and this is a friend who is in the panhandle, some say just a bit too close to the
FIRE (pronounced FAR),

FACTS TO PONDER:

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is

700,000.

( Accidental deaths caused by Physicians

per year are

120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician

is

0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept. of

Health Human Services.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now think about this:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U. S

is

80,000,000.

(Yes, that's 80 million.)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

( The number of accidental gun deaths

per year, all age groups,

is

1,500.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

(C) The number of accidental deaths

per gun owner

is

.000188

Statistics courtesy of FBI

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So, statistically, doctors are approximately

9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,

BUT

ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Please alert your friends

to this

alarming threat.

We must ban doctors

before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Out of concern for the public at large,

I have withheld the statistics on

lawyers

for fear the shock would cause

people to panic and seek medical attention

LOL! This was a good one! And speaking from one on the "inside" of the medical profession.....probably not a bad idea!

My husband's family is from East Texas, I was raised all over the south so I thought I could handle any expressions or language they threw my way...but they got me. When I met them the first time I was listening to his dad give my husband directions and he said "turn on Far Tire Road". Now I'm sitting there thinking that's a strange name for a road. You can imagine my amusement when we turned on the road with the fire tower rising above the pines and it dawned on me there was no Far Tire.

The other expression they used that I loved and have adopted. When you've been cooped up inside for too long (or when your mom has had enough of you and simply wants the house to herself) they'll tell ya..."Get outside and let the stink blow off ya!" (said with a shoo of the hand LO

I miss Texas. *sigh*
