G R E Y B L A C K and WONDERFUL F L E S H

Watched "Sin City" last night on cable, really enjoyed the movie, it is extremely violent, but done in a comic book style without the balloon text sound effects.

The movie is really different visually with the incorporation of color in selected items into the mostly black/white/grey tones.

I found it interesting in how the lack of color enhanced and intensified the uglyness of the violence and the appearance of the male characters, in contrast to the virtuous male thoughts in the movie.

Mickey Rourke out of nowhere, was quite good in his role, but then his life seemed to have degenerated into an almost real life cartoon character. It was interesting to just see him in a good movie in a good role after such a long time.

Now the Ladies in this movie, like in a cartoon book, are what all teen age boys,(which covers men from 13-death in our male minds) want exposed in our comic books. Lots of bare skin, and when clothed, in the most street walking, ready to jump your bones attire. Most of the fems are either hookers, dancers or working in the venues of the dancers.

Carla Gugino in just a black thong, walking from a bedroom, down the hall into the bathroom, stopping standing over the bathroom sink, a sight that made me sit up and lean forward in my chair.......YOWSAH, now we are talking meat and potatoes, not a boney model bod, or all health spa toned, but softnlush.

Clive Owen somehow looked just as he does in other movies, the grey/black hues did nothing to dim his prettyboy looks. Clive and Michael Madsen had very little if anything done to their facial appearance, other than glasses on Madsen.

But I found myself examining how ugly the male were depicted and the ugliness of the violence in the ovie and how this contrasted with the cartoon themed goodness of their thoughts and the willingness to give their lives to save another.

Anywho, just enjoyed the flesh, the violence and the intriguing uses of color interlaced in the grey/black hues in the movie.

And now the thought of just what and why I wrote this................

Maybe I'm just too stingy with my money...but I really resent the prices they charge for movies at the theaters these days. I wait for them to get to the $2.00 movie house near my house...or I wait for cable.

I've heard good things about the movie...so will keep my eyes out for it.
