Hooker VS Porno Star
Hooker VS Porno Star
Hello to all in Blogland
I read an interview the other day with a Porn Star. The Interviewer, who actually likes this particular starlet, and has helped launch her career, called her a Whore. She was immediately offended by this comment.
She defended her occupation as being an "Actress", and talked down about the activities of the average street hooker. She continued to try to explain the differences in the two occupations, and the more she did, the worse she looked for being so hypocritical in her thinking.
It got me thinking...is there a difference?
By the strict definition of the word...the Porn Star is a Whore. She is prostituting herself for sex, the same as a Call Girl or Hooker on the street.
She (the Porn Star) may have more glamorous surroundings, get better pay (sometimes), and be more widely known then the average street Hooker... but that hardly changes what she does for a living.
She has sex for money.
One girl exchanges sex for money, for the customer to enjoy at that particular moment...
The other girl exchanges sex for money, for a customer to enjoy later in a video...
There is no difference.
Calling yourself an "Actress" doesnt change the core of what you are doing for money.
Im not debating whether or not these are admirable occupations, I will not judge people here.
I am however, intriqued by the perception that some have concerning Porno Film activities, and other sex trades.
My questions to you my reader is this...
1. Do you think there is a marked difference in the the two professions, concerning credibility?
2. Have you EVER seriously considered employment in Porno...or prostitution?
I think if we are honest with ourselves, we would admit to considering Porno as a more viable outlet concerning "sex for money" then prostitution.
Interesting isnt it?
All comments and responses are welcome
Bye for now

Great post once again O'Man,|
I am very diplomatic so I refuse to answer your first question, as for the second question, no.
I do love Tera Patrick, though I have seen more print work of hers than film.
Mr O', can you please come by to pick up your box of porn. I need the space.

Hello Starlite |
You bring up a point I had not really thought about...thx.
When you say "physicality", I think you are referring to the location of their workplace, correct? If that is true, in some cases the back-street Hooker would definately be in a more hazardous and seedy invironment. That being said, it doesnt change what they both do for money, in my humble opinion.
As for your two questions...
I have to be honest and say that although I am very open-minded on a lot of things, those two professions are not ones that I would want my daughter (if I had one)to choose. I think that women are beautiful creatures, that deserve an occupation that is a little more respectful of that beauty. I apologize to any women that may have been forced to partake in these kinds of activities, Im only referring to women who pick these occupations of their own free will.
I dont judge people by their past, everyone has a story, and a sequence of events that plot their life, ...but it would be a very large hurdle for me to overcome, to marry someone who worked in those professions. But I do not rule it out completely. I judge a person by their actions today, not the past.
Very good questions Star...
You made me think, and answer carefully. Those questions were not as clear-cut as they first seemed.
Thx for visiting my blog, have a good day
