What it You Had a Chat Room and Nobody Came?

Things have been a little slow at the Motel recently. The other day, I got really bored and decided to open a chat room. Pretty cool idea, I thought. People can come in, chat, see each other on their cams and listen to decent toons.

First, I had to open a room. This was pretty simple. Sign up, fill out some stuff online, give it a name and a theme. Voila! A chat room is born. (Sorry, AdultFriendFinder, but it's hosted in another venue that does not charge a fee...maybe when the room becomes immensely popular, okay?)

Next, I needed to seriously beef up my music collection. I didn't feel like having stacks of CD's all around me; or having to pop a new one in every time. The solution to this was fairly simple, too. Download a bunch of tunes and run em on the 'puter. After about 8 hours of searching, downloading and building play lists, I had a fairly good beginning.

Finally, the launch. I opened up the new room, switched on my cam and kicked out the jams.

And waited.

You know what? I takes time to build up a chat room. People pop in and out like sailors. They seldom stay, especially if I am the only other person in there. I am sure that with patience, I can start to make a few new friends who will drop in regularly.

In the mean time, I'll keep my dutiful station. Sitting there. Playing tunes. Waiting for someone to actually say "hi." Maybe getting someone to stay for more than 30 seconds and talk about something...anything! Hello? Is anyone out there?

I sure am glad I started this chat room to relieve the boredome.
