Reality??? No Thanks....

I don't understand the drama that gets created here...and I don't understand how people get so caught up in this stuff...blogging is about fun not drama...there are some incredible people here in blogland but they are not really in our lives...this is where we come to share parts of ourselves with other like minded folks...we may even make a few connections through the blogs that go outside of it but even then...it isn't quite the same thing...is it? It is more than likely a long distance relationship at best...How do so many people lose sight of reality?

kind thoughts,
Moonfire

tenor: I agree that this is another extension of our reality but even though the people on here are real people...and we are connected by ideas...it is mostly in our heads and imagination as to who each one we encounter is until we meet them...face to face...and incorporate them into our own world...until then we only think we know them...

...well, I know I could rise to the bait, and add yet more to the elusiveness of 'reality', like trying to divine its nature, working backwards from 'Reality Shows'. however, your post is actually about the drama, which apparently...we all love....( see "Reality Shows")
...when I first began blogging, there was a bit of high school competitiveness for popularity, driven by the visit and comment counters. ,,,most popular blogs... and you would see certain techniques for gaining numbers. If you have the time, I guess it is as worthwhile a self centered occupation as any other. However, it does seem to breed flamers and trolls. The descriptive theories of 'why' are always so dry, when compared to...."ooooooohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! did you fuckin' see THAT?!!!!!! We all love car wrecks, more than wrecked cars.
In chaos theory there is a fable... of a professor delivering a lecture on the nature of the universe. An elderly woman approaches him after, and says, " You know, all that fancy science you talk is just not right. The Universe sits on the back of a Great Turtle."
...The professor asks her, "Well then, Madam, what holds the Great Turtle up?"
..."well, that's a very bright question. Now your getting it. It's another turtle." she replied.
...The professor rubs his jaw, and takes the smiling woman in..."Well, then, what holds the turtle beneath the turtle up?"
..."Oh dear sir, you're not going to go on like that are you? It's turtles ....all the way down."

I feel that this is only another extension of our "reality", one that pervades space and time and therefore gives an alternate dimension to the "norm" of established communication channels. Reality? How many are there? It is at least an alternate reality. The wonderful people I have met are real, living beings with jobs and homes and computers like mine, connected by ideas. Have another peanut butter sandwich and keep on blogging , my friend. Saxman.

somethingelse: I understand that my reality might not be exactly the same as someone else's but there are certain realities we all have in common...like being human and having to take the garbage out...I have a great fondness for some of the people on here...and only wish them well...and yes they have touched me...with their sadness or their joy...and over time you do feel you know them...and this is a great place to visit...but I don't live here...I live out there...

Reality surely must be wherever you find it. You simply must acknowledge your own unique contribution to the most devious of undeletable potions. And many kind thoughts to you as well!!!
