~Wishing for Magic~

One of my closest friends is going through a tough time in her life right now.She feels lost and alone after about 10 years of marriage, and i so wish i had some magic potion to make all the pain and suffering go away.

But all i can offer is some comfort and to listen, and if she asks..my thoughts and ideas on what to do next.

Life is not supposed to be easy i guess ,but seeing her like this breaks my heart, because there is so much love and tenderness in her being.

Love grows stronger at the hour of seperation but we humans are blessed with the gift of forgiving and forgetting. Your friend is very lucky to have you to listen and comfort her. We live only to discover beauty, all else is a form of waiting. That, you can share with your friend and tell her that her time will come when she will meet her real soul mate. As one of my favorite poets quoted:" A person who has not looked on Sorrow will never see Joy". And another quote :" If the other person injures you, you may forget the injury; but if you injure him/her you will always remember". I am sure if her husband was the cause of her feeling lost and loneliness then he sall never forget that.

When the music stops it means that a new song has begun in another part of our personal universe. All we need do is listen to our heart to find it. "Somewhere the Trumpets Are Sounding"...a play about G K Chesterton that I saw once, was it a work of his?

You have the "magic potion" already..... it is your caring concern, comforting.... listening... and just being there for her!!

The only problem is it does take a little bit of time to take effect...

It sounds like you are a very good friend indeed! Remind her she need not be so all alone as you are there for her!
