AFriendFinder Tattler's Guide to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

AFriendFinder Tattler Movie Review

Well... that was interesting... still not quite sure what to think. Love the book, just listened to the audiobook again about a month ago. Maybe the original's too fresh in my mind, but this really didn't do it for me.

Loved the visuals on the Magrathea Factory Floor... wished there had been a bit more of Slartibartfast and his fjords... hated this depiction of Marvin... kept thinking Marvin the Martian with that big head... and what was with the Ewok in a suit instead of using CGI? Zaphod... well, at least his second head wasn't from a mannequin... just didn't strike me as the same guy I read about and found so humorous. Trillian was cute... didn't quite come off as brilliant as in the book, but more than adequate. Arthur was nearly perfect and didn't really find anything wrong with the depiction of Ford.

Went with a friend that hadn't read the book... on his behalf I'd give it a 3 out of 10. As for me.... I give it 6 out of 10. I have to stop going to movies based on books. Other than the Harry Potter stuff I'm always so disappointed.

What was your take??

Hmmm.. That is disappointing to hear. Was hoping that it was played off better than that. I think a lot of people who read the books are disappointed with the director's vision and depiction. Oh, well.... better wait for the dvd to come out, I guess.

Great review old pal. I am glad to see you are getting into the spirit of this AFriendFinder TATTLER phenomenon.

I have not read the book nor do I plan to see the flick at this point in time. Your review makes it even less likely that I will give it a try. Thanks!
