One of the obstacles in working towards my goals is that I get very easily discouraged, even if the results are actually good. If I lose 1 kilo I want to have lost 5, if I draw a relatively nice picture, I get upset that it’s not a masterpiece, it’s never -or I’m never ‒ good enough. Which first of all is absolute rubbish, and second of all, it doesn’t get me anywhere.
It comes to mind that I have to expect less of myself, be less demanding, ease up and forgive myself for not being perfect… a phrase comes to mind that I liked, “We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” (Mother Teresa).
If I can make little changes that bring sunshine to my life and other people’s… that should be enough.
