Finding Comfort!

Many things in life are 'transient'. That's a word someone once used when describing a comment, a very affectionate comment, she had previously said to me. I stupidly took it at face value and assumed it was her expressing her affection for me. It was an unsolicited comment. She just rang and left a message on my voicemail and told me how she just want to let me know she was thinking about me. A couple of weeks later she found it difficult to be civil to me?

So in this life of mysteries, of transient or through-away comments, remarks, expressions of affection, it's nice to know that there's one thing you can depend on!

When I'm feeling down or am knocked back I look to 'Mother Nature' for that comfort that, for some reason, I find difficult to find anywhere else.

Took a drive today, walked along Lough Gill, listened to the birds singing, watched the ducks and Swans and found that comfort I needed at that point in time.

O.k. so it would have been fantastic to have had someone to share it with! It would even have just been nice to have had someone I could ring or text and describe the beauty in my eyes, ears, nose and just in me. But I savoured it for myself and realised that no one could take that from me; no one could deprive me of what I consider to be one of my greatest treasures; my appreciation of the beauty that is 'mother nature'.

Savour it Macker! You are one can take that away from you. And sometimes, even though it is lonely, we learn the most about ourselves from being alone with nature. Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to you too. I always feel if I'm gonna be lonely it might as well be somewhere where I can wonder at the beauty that is nature; and some how it helps me to stop feeling sorry for myself and start appreciating what I have go.

Sometimes being out and in tune with Nature, lessens the heaviness on our hearts.
May you always find that solace in such wonderful surroundings, Macker.

tender hugs.....m.

couldn't agree with you more. I have my own sanctuary, was the best investment l ever made. So every couple of days I head there, and I can just sit for hours watching the world. Looking at the lake, listening to the birds, watching sunrise, looking at the moon. Now officially its only half an acre, but as far as I'm concerned I own everything as far as I can see.

The place is so special that I only share it with people that are special to me... don't want it contaminated by others.

And when I can't get to sanctuary I go for long walks around the botanics..... wanna come, will shsow you My tree.
