"It was only a Winters Tale"

It's snowing. We're alone in a lonely log Cabin close to Lenane, Co. Mayo, Ireland. Not far from Delphi Lodge.

The air is cold, crisp. The scenery is breathtaking. The water blue and cold, the snow sparkling & so so white. The mountains are so inviting.

We wrap up and go for a long walk, along that road between Louisbourg & Lenane. It's the same walk taken by emigrants trying to flee the famine almost 150 years ago. The lake between the mountains, the false sandy beach, the monument to all those who died on the walk!

When we get back to the cabin the fire, which I started before we left, has burst into full flame. It's a log fire. The flames tickle the logs, waive like a silk ribbon blowing in the wind & climb into the air before disappearing up the chimney.

We snuggle down in front of the fire, a bottle of wine close by.

Before long we are both naked. The heat of the fire adds to the heat of our anticipation; our lust, our need for our bodies to melt into one.

We make love all night long. The curtains remain open. There's nobody close by; and even if there is it adds to the excitement.

The rug is soft. The heat is gentle yet intense; erotic, mezmarising, like an energy charging us to make love for as long as our bodies can mustre the strength. Like obedient servants we accept the challenge, accept the charge and slowly (but sometimes uncontrollably) our bodies melt into one; over and over again.

It's a dream. A winters tale. Maybe someday, like so many others, I'll realise this dream with that special person; when I find her.
