Trying to be sexy almost killed me!

I am a mixed race of Filipino and Spanish. So I'm not like majority of Pinays who are slender and slim. I need to continue working out in the gym and watch my diet or I might gain much weight. They say I have a voluptuous body. Sometimes chubby but others say I'm still sexy for being curvy.

But because I want to be like typical Asian women, I tried taking the slimming pill when I was in San Francisco, California. Just less than a week, I felt a pain on my left head. Then later my heart was rapidly beating.

I thought I just lack sleep due to Christmas celebrations. So I slept. When I woke up on January 1st, New Year's Day, I felt so thirsty and drank lots of water. Then I felt my left arm up to my left chest and left head were getting numb. My heart was like a bouncing ball, throbbing so rapidly. My nurse cousin told me to take aspirin because I could feel the vein on my left head as if it was ticking like a clock. I was rushed to the hospital. Within a year, I felt little chest pain, on and off. It took me one year to gain back my strength.

Now I would rather work out in the gym and avoid high calorie and fatty foods. So I advise people who want to lose weight, just be patient to watch your diet and exercise regularly. That is the safest way to be in good shape and you'll also feel healthy and strong.

I overdosed on ephedra when it first came out as a "nutritional supplement" years back when I was playing competitve sports and it was a very scary thing. You're lucky that you didn't do more damage.

It must be difficult to belong to a culture that the "norm" is very skinny. I have a difficult enough time being 'plain old american" (german/norwegian heritage) and dealing with that image!

Well, if that's you in the pic, I think you look great, so whatever!

One celebrity was quoted for saying "You're not fat, you're in the wrong country!" It's hard to be with Asian people who are ordinarily slim or skinny as I look like a big woman with them. I have Spanish body curves and I guess I should be in Europe or USA.
