One question

I just have one question:

Why can't things ever be easy???????

I am trying so hard to be happy.

I found out today that my husband hasn't been served his divorce papers yet. They have been sitting in the Sheriff's department since July 12th!!! They know where he's living; they know where he works...Just serve him his damn papers so I can get on with my life!!!!!

(FYI to you know who you are, I wanted to talk to you about this, but never had an opportunity)

Is it difficult to divorce in the USA? over here you only need to be seperated for 12 months and thats it, don't have to serve papers unless one party is contesting the divorce.
Come live in New Zealand divorce is easy peasy lemon squeezy.

NOTHING about divorce is easy.

Good luck. It sucks having your life in the hands of others.

And I hate being in that situation! I sometimes feel like the inmates I work with everyday, just waiting for that gate to open, letting me go home after several years of being locked up! Thanks, Moonlight.

If it was me, I would call them and ask them why they haven't delivered the papers yet, but I'm not patient when it comes to things like this. My divorce seemed like it took forever but in real time it only took 6 months (only because he was fighting me for everything). If you ever need to talk, I'm here for ya!

It can take a long time for the sherrif to serve papers...one of those crapy things in life that teach us the annoying lessons in patience that years later we come to appreciate with gritted teeth because it gave us the wherewithal to deal with something that would have sent us around the bend early in life.

Screw philosophy tho....Pout away. I'll keep ya company! LOL! Hang in there...It is hard to get divorced. There's nothing fun about it, except freedom and you are already getting that yes?

Yup...this juiciness is from me....

One of my coworkers told me yesterday to "take a chill pill" that serving papers are on the bottom of the sheriff's things to do...Yea right...In the small town I'm from, they are not busy 24/7. They could even call the SOB and have him come down to the station to serve them.

As a side note, the sheriff is an acquaintance of my hubby...although that shouldn't twart him doing his job!

Thanks Shannee! Loveme
