Music of the Heart

It seems a lot of people have posts about music on here, and being a FORMER dj (The DJ business was with my soon2bx, well you know), I decided to do a post too.

Music to me is my salvation. No matter what bad mood I'm in, music has a way of lifting my spirits. I have used lyrics in previous posts to illustrate what I was feeling. Hopefully, the people that have viewed those posts were able to understand where I was coming from.

Music has always been a part of me. My older brother and sisters were always playing their radios. Growing up in the 70's and 80's, I remember everything from Elton John to John Denver (depending on whose radio I was listening to). I guess that's why I enjoyed DJing so much.

When I got older, rock was my favorite, and then I got interested in pop. , grunge, alternative weren't around until I got into college. While I was in college, I listened to mostly R & B, , and hip hop.

By the time I graduated from college, I was into almost everything except country. Then I met my husband, who was 100% country. I started listening to it in my car, but could only take about 30-45 minutes of it before I had to turn it off! Now, I can listen to it just as much as I can listen to everything else...EXCEPT today's rock. I just don't get it. I listen to a few bands like linkin park, but that's it. I even listen to classical music from time to time.

My favorite music is classic rock, like Styx, REO, Def Lepard, Journey, just to name a few. It's probably because they bring back memories of my youth. When I hear them on the radio, I just start singing. It's amazing, I know the lyrics to almost every song! Next month Journey and Def Lepard are going to be in concert together in St. Louis, which would be awesome. I would love to go, but I haven't found anyone to go with me yet.

When I was developing my profile, the first thing that came to my mind was Journey's song, LOVIN, TOUCHIN, SQUEEZIN. I don't know, it seemed like such a perfect song to work as a screen name on an adult site. Unfortunately, the whole name wouldn't fit, so I had to tweak it a little. On another site, I used lovetouchsqueeze. I like that and I met my "friend" because of it. He was a huge Journey fan, and he picked up on it right away. When I got to this site, I wanted to be a little more creative, so I tweaked it again and came up with LOVEMETOUCHME5. (The 5 was the number of dogs I have, which is totally irelevant, I know.)

Music has a way of touching people in different ways. How does it touch you? Is there a song that hits your soul everytime you hear it?

the Rolling Stones are, and always will be, the band. Use them to escape, to celebrate, to mourn. Exile on Main Street may be the best record of all time..but then I'm biased. The opening riff of Not Fade Away always gets my heart pumping.
